Whole Child, Whole Person Summit: Redefining Achievement, Education, and Well-Being
Join ASCD and Boston College's Lynch School of Education for this inaugural event highlighting the need to redefine education to address the whole child and, ultimately, the whole person. We believe that the time is right to raise our collective voices to support a more holistic and humanistic approach to education as a vehicle that inspires imagination, improves the human condition, and creates a more just world. Through this whole child approach to education, we will develop individuals who are knowledgeable, emotionally and physically healthy, civically inspired, engaged in the arts, prepared for work and economic self-sufficiency, and ready for the work beyond formal schooling.
This event promises to
- Highlight the established work of ASCD and Boston College around the importance of developing the whole child through education for a life of meaning and purpose.
- Raise awareness for the need for education systems and schools to take a more humanistic approach to education.
- Highlight the global relevance of a whole child approach to education.
- Provide participants with the rationale, motivation, understanding, and implementation steps to sustain a Whole Child, Whole Person approach to education.
