Understanding Authority & Choosing Good Cases
About this Event
893 Centre Street, Newton, MA 02459, USA
All cases are NOT created equal. Higher courts are more authoritative than lower courts—but not always. States' highest courts only need to follow U.S. Supreme Court rulings on questions of federal law. Some decisions have great language but may actually work against your arguments. How should you decide which decisions provide the strongest support for your client's position? Teaching & Research Librarian Joan Shear will show you how to select the best cases.
Be sure to register ahead of time so that we order enough food for lunch!
