About this Event
Boston College, 2599 Beacon Street, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467, USA
For over forty years during the Cold War, the United States and the Soviet Union dominated the security environment in a tense and dangerous nuclear standoff. After the fall of the Iron Curtain, many hoped that the rules-based order that began to emerge after World War II would expand and strengthen to help transform America's Cold War enemies into stakeholders willing to both benefit from and uphold that order. Was that hope too difficult to realize with the paths and policies chosen, and what should Americans ponder as great power competition intensifies in the 21st century? Join three fellows from the U.S. Army War College as they offer their perspectives about competition with China and Russia, and how America's engagement with other states caught up in that competition matters.
