Glass is so ubiquitous in our lives that it almost becomes a symbol of the modern world. Images are reflected, obscured, and transformed by glass. The exhibition explores the use of imagery and video to distill human connections down to their base components universally, but in ways that remove the intimacy of those connections. By looking at self-portraits, installations, and videos, we rethink the relationships we have with others and ourselves. Are we looking through something hard but brittle, translucent but impenetrable?
Through the looking glass, we become spectators of others, the world, and ourselves.
