We revisit the hermeneutical category of transignification in Edward Schillebeeckx to briefly participate in a debate between the Argentinian queer theologian Marcella Althaus-Reid and John Milbank, the British theologian of the so-called “Radical Orthodoxy,” regarding the “twisted” sacramentality of divine presence among wounded and trashed bodies.
