Boston College has the rare opportunity to host four Tibetan Buddhist scholar-monks visiting from Gaden Shartse Monastery (South India). The monks will offer prayers and chants focusing on the Buddhist ideal of compassion, and on the bodhisattva of compassion, Avalokiteshvara. We will begin with a short explanation, and end with Q&A with the monks. The event (in St. Ignatius Church) is open to all. Our evening with the monks will afford us a firsthand glimpse into Himalayan Buddhist practice and monastic life.
