The Irish, Boxing and the Making of the Modern World, Patrick Griffin (University of Notre Dame)
Patrick Griffin explores the tangled story of the Irish in boxing, building a global system, and creating democratic urban politics. He will do so by focusing on one fighter: Yankee Sullivan.
Patrick Griffin teaches American history at Notre Dame and directs their Irish Studies Program. His latest book due out with Yale University Press in the spring, is entitled The Age of Atlantic Revolution: The Fall and Rise of a Connected World.
