Boston College hosts a number of international students and scholars from both current and former Commonwealth nations. The recent passing of Queen Elizabeth II and the appointment of the new Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, places renewed focus on the role of the Commonwealth in current geopolitical systems, debates on the legacy and ongoing effects of colonialism, and sparked renewed calls for referendums on departing and/or joining the Commonwealth in some nations. Join a panel of Boston College international graduate and undergraduate students as they share their perspectives on these ongoing discussions with Associate Dean Hetzner and Assistant Dean Shlala moderating.
