Writers get all the attention. But where would they be without editors to recognize their talents, provide perspective on their ideas, help shape their work, and publish it? What roles do editors play in American literary and journalistic life today? How do they practice their invisible art?

Join two of the most talented and prominent editors at work in the country today: Cullen Murphy and Paul Elie. Murphy is Vanity Fair's editor-at-large and for 20 years was The Atlantic's managing editor. Elie worked for 18 years as senior editor at Farrar, Staus and Giroux.
