Every tradition was once an innovation. How can we draw inspiration from the past to create the future?
Join us in conversation with descendants of a 700-year-old Bohemian noble family whose successive generations have played an influential role in European politics and society, especially as patrons of the arts.
The Lobkowicz family’s story is one of loss, recovery, and return. Their art collections and properties were confiscated twice, first in 1939 by the Nazis and again after 1948 by the Communists. The Lobkowiczes were persecuted and forced to flee their homeland, settling as refugees in Boston, Massachusetts. After the Velvet Revolution of 1989, William Lobkowicz returned to his family’s homeland and began the restitution process to reclaim, reassemble, and restore their long-lost heritage with the mission to preserve, study, and share it with the world through House of Lobkowicz.
