Join us on Friday, November 9th for our trek into Boston to visit Daily Table and Haley House! Transportation is provided to both locations and back to BC. The bus will depart campus from Conte Forum promptly at 2pm.

First visit (2:45pm): Daily Table

Daily Table is a not-for-profit retail store that offers the community a variety of tasty, convenient and affordable foods. Founded by Doug Rauch, former president of Trader Joe’s, the company opened its first store in 2015 in Dorchester, MA.  Daily Table provides both “grab-n-go” ready to eat meals, and a selection of produce, bread, dairy and grocery items at prices designed to fit within every budget. Daily Table's meals are priced to compete with fast food options, making it easier for families to eat healthier within their means. Daily Table aims to reduce both the effects of poor eating habits caused by challenging economics, and the impact that wasted food has on the environment.

Second visit (4pm): Haley House

Haley House is a nonprofit organization based in Boston's South End and Roxbury neighborhoods. Haley House uses food with purpose and the power of community to break down barriers between people, empower individuals, and strengthen neighborhoods.  Always local in focus and based in personal relationship, Haley House has grown organically in response to the harsh realities of social inequality and injustice. They remain committed to nurturing community which inspires and supports lasting personal and societal transformation. Never abandoning its deep roots as a house of hospitality, Haley House works to address basic human needs through its four branches: Direct Servicing, Housing, Urban Farming, and the Haley House Bakery Café.
