Public Portion: Idea Fair (10–11 a.m.) and Final Pitch (2–4 p.m.)
Join us to support teams of macro School of Social Work students as they conceptualize creative and sustainable solutions to societal issues, such as:
- Food insecurity and poor nutrition among students in Title I Boston Public Schools and how urban farms can mitigate those problems
- Environmentally friendly approach to cleaning up the garbage on the streets in Boston’s Chinatown
- Barriers to economic mobility for Bhutanese communities in Springfield
- Culture preservation among immigrant communities
- Logistical support for low-income incarcerated population
- Food security program for low-income population during natural disasters
- Access to opioid treatment services for homeless young adults in Massachusetts
- Housing the chronically homeless
Teams will present their ideas to a panel of judges and the audience at the Final Pitch. Two winners will be awarded: Judges Selection and Popular Choice.
