Reimagining Witchcraft - The Making of 1711 Ireland: A Witch's Fate

1711 Ireland: A Witch's Fate is a choice-driven game in which you play the role of an investigator following the 18th-century witch trial at Islandmagee, a peninsula and civil parish in County Antrim. Whether you lead with evidence and empathy, or convict suspects for in-game rewards and financial gain, is entirely up to you. Grim yet affecting, this is a nerve-racking, sluething game with relentless pacing, dozens of compelling characters, and frightening cinematic cut scenes. This meticulously designed, historically accurate, chilling video game presents players with constant moral choices to uncover what happened in Ireland's last trial for witchcraft.

Meet the developers of this new cutting-edge video game: Sabrina Minter, Brian Coyle, Victoria McCollum, and Andrew Sneddon. The interdisciplinary team from Ulster University behind the game will take the audience through the design and construction of this unique piece of 'dark' public history.
