MA) & 8.6 Natural Selection & Ancestry (8th gr.MA). This session assumes the prerequisite completion of the Launch Professional Learning and previous experience teaching an OpenSciEd unit

Join us February 14 & 15 at The Connors Center 20 Glen St. Dover. MA

In this 2 day in-person PD we will:

• Reflect on your students’ writing/drawing and potential barriers. 
• Analyze lessons to understand the focus, role, and varied opportunities of writing and drawing for sensemaking in OpenSciEd. 
• Analyze examples from OpenSciEd lessons that show the student resources and progression of student ideas and practices over time as demonstrated through their writing and drawing 
• Consider how to customize the OpenSciEd materials in ways that support our students’ and align with the key goals of OpenSciEd.
• Engage in lessons from the next round of units as a student and discuss implementation strategies in their own context

The cost of this event is $700 plus any overnight accommodations if selected. There is a reduced cost for members of the OEI grant cohorts (Cohort 1 at $250, Cohort 2 &3 at $500).
