THE BRIEN O'BRIEN AND MARY HASTEN LECTURE IN INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE

Ritual, Sincerity, and Human Flourishing: What We Can Learn from Chinese Religions

Attend in person - MASKS REQUIRED - no registration

Since ritual plays such an essential role in Chinese religions, much attention has been focused on the proper performance and the proper attitudes to inhabit when performing rituals. These can shed new light on ritual life in other religious traditions. Harvard University Professor Dr. Michael J. Puett, an expert in Chinese religion, will explore particular ways in which engagement with Chinese religions may offer lessons for Western approaches to ritual.
