 eries\n\nWith Theresa Betancourt\, Salem Professor in Global Practice at th
 e Boston College School of Social Work and Director of the Research Program
  on Children and Adversity (RPCA)\n\nThe presentation will provide an overv
 iew on the Research Program on Children and Adversity (RPCA)\, which focuse
 s on understanding trajectories of risk and resilience in children facing m
 ultiple forms of adversity\, including poverty\, conflict\, and infectious 
 disease. Through quantitative and qualitative research methods\, the progra
 m investigates key mechanisms shaping child development and mental health. 
 The program develops targeted psychosocial interventions that support posit
 ive life outcomes that can be effectively delivered at scale in low-resourc
 e settings. The presentation will focus on the three major research project
 s at RPCA\, funded by NIH\, the World Bank\, USAID\, and private foundation

 ____\n\nTheresa S. Betancourt\, Sc.D.\, M.A.\, is the Salem Professor in Gl
 obal Practice at the Boston College School of Social Work and Director of t
 he Research Program on Children and Adversity (RPCA). Her central research 
 interests include the developmental and psychosocial consequences of concen
 trated adversity on children\, youth and families\; resilience and protecti
 ve processes in child and adolescent mental health and child development\; 
 refugee families\; and applied\, cross-cultural mental health research.\n\n
