The Office of the Vice President for Human Resources (OVPHR) invites all faculty and staff to join for an engaging Reflection and Dialogue Series session, centered on Zach Mercurio’s insightful book, The Power of Mattering: How Leaders Can Create a Culture of Significance. Here, we will reflect and discuss how cultivating a culture of mattering serves as a foundational leadership skill that not only enhances institutional performance and cohesion, but is also inseparable from our collective health, wellbeing, and inclusive excellence.

Emphasized in Mercurio’s work, participants will gain actionable tools and learn strategies to help colleagues connect their individual work to a broader shared purpose, therefore revitalizing our teams and campus community at Boston College.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm, in the McElroy 237 Commons Room. Please note that this is an in-person event, with lunch provided.

If you are interested in participating, please use the link below to rsvp, by Wednesday, March 18th. A Google Calendar invite will be sent to you as a confirmation of registration. All registrants will be provided with further information regarding the digital book and relevant material access before the event. (Note that reading the book in advance is welcomed, however it is not a prerequisite or expectation for participation in the event.)
