Round 2 Key Elements (2 day event) Sound ONLY

OEI has planned an engaging 2 day in-person PL session for the following unit: 8.2 Sound  (6th gr. MA), ONLY  This session assumes the prerequisite completion of the Launch Professional Learning and previous experience teaching an OpenSciEd unit.

• February 26: 8am - 4pm, breakfast & lunch provided

Parking: Parking is on-site and free

Cost: The cost of this event is $700 plus any overnight accommodations if selected. There is a reduced cost for members of the OEI grant cohorts (Cohort 1 at $250, Cohorts 2 & 3 at $500).

In this session, teachers will:

• Reflect on successes and challenges of implementation of your first OpenSciEd unit and brainstorm solutions.
• Identify key instructional elements for teaching and learning
• Examine student video and artifacts from OpenSciEd units in relation to key instructional elements
• Consider how to customize the OpenSciEd materials in ways that support our students’ and align with the key goals of OpenSciEd.
• Engage in lessons from the next round of units
