The Schiller Institute, in collaboration with the Earth and Environmental Sciences Department and Environmental Studies Program, presents Dr. Ethan Baxter, Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Boston College, for a lecture titled "Rare Earth Mineral Geopolitics in Ukraine: What Are We Actually Talking About?"

Recent weeks have featured media reports of the "minerals deal" or the "rare earth minerals deal" with Ukraine. This presentation will examine the critical minerals actually in play, as well as the environmental and geopolitical issues surrounding their extraction and use.
