Science and Religion –
Are they at Crossroads?
Science and Religion are often discussed as if they are noncompatible
or contradictory. Fr. Francis Xavier looks into the problem as complementary: While Science could answer the ‘how’ of life, Religion might answer the ‘why’ of life. The former is based on rational thinking while the latter is acceptance in faith. Starting with a few day-to-day phenomena that may not be completely explained by scientific methods, he brings in other possibilities to understand such events. He takes up a couple of issues such as Creation-Evolution, Concept of Time, Life after Life etc. to discuss the different perspectives of the same reality. Emergence of consciousness paves the way to interconnectedness of everything in reality.
