DESCRIPTION:TOPOLOGICAL STATES IN TWISTED BILAYER TRANSITION METAL DICHALCO
GENIDES\n \n\nRecently\, both the integer and fractional quantum Hall effe
ct has been observed in twisted bilayer transition metal dichalcogenides (
TMDs) at zero magnetic field\, generating widespread interest in this mate
rials system. In this talk\, I will first briefly review the route toward
s materials realization of topological states\, and then focus on the basi
c models describing twisted bilayer TMDs\, including the origin of the non
trivial topology. I will then discuss how machine learning method can be u
sed to establish the microscopic Hamiltonian and the important role of pol
arization charges in determining the band topology. Phase diagrams at var
ious fillings as a function of twist angle and gate voltage will be discus
sed as well.\n\nReference\n1. Signatures of fractional quantum anomalou
