Dear 2L Students:

Your final year of law school is closer than it seems -- and the course planning decisions you make now
will shape your path to the bar exam, your career, and the kind of lawyer you want to become.
Join us on April 1 in East Wing 115A from 12:15-1:15 p.m. for Pave Your Path to the Profession: The Bar Exam
and Beyond, an essential planning session for all 2L students. Sandy Tarrant, Sarah Bookbinder, and I
will walk you through a practical checklist to help you make the most of your final year. Pizza will be
served!
You leave with answers to these questions and more!
● How do I balance foundational bar exam courses with my personal and professional interests?
● How can my course selection reflect my professional goals and interests?
● How do I think about courses that signal preparation and commitment to my target practice
area?
● What is the Uniform Bar Exam (UBE), and what do I need to know about the NextGen Bar Exam?
● How do I decide where to sit for the bar, and when do I apply for accommodations?
A note on the NextGen Bar Exam: While Massachusetts and New York will continue to administer the
UBE in July 2027, several jurisdictions are administering a new bar exam, the NextGen UBE. These states
include Connecticut, Maryland, Missouri, Minnesota, Oregon, Vermont, and Washington state. Please
consult the NCBE website for the full list. If you're planning to sit in one of these states, book an
appointment with Thao or Nina soon.

Pizza will be served, please use this link to RSVP, and click “I’m interested” so we have an accurate
headcount!
