On the Road. Each one of us, in varying ways, is constantly on the road: on the road from home, on the road to school, on the road to a degree, on the road to the next level of a career, on the road to recovery… Between 1992 and 1996, photographer Lu Nan traveled on the road through ten Chinese provinces, documenting the lives of Catholic villagers. Amid the economic and social complexities of the time, Lu Nan witnesses nothing short of a miracle: people of deep faith despite constant strife in everyday life; on the road to heaven.
On the Road is a collection of 60 photographs — Lu Nan’s attempt to convey to the world the miracle he witnessed. These have been curated into 5 categories that depict different aspects of the life and faith of the people he encountered on the road. Look closely at these photographs — there are stories hidden in every minute detail. As you make your way through the exhibit, allow Lu Nan to take you with him on his journey On the Road.
Yours in Christ,
