 culty seek to design cognitively rigorous courses\, where students are ask
 ed to question assumptions\, give close attention to complex material\, an
 d push their skills past their previous threshold. Students\, meanwhile\, 
 describe rigorous courses primarily in logistical terms (e.g. courses with
  strict policies or significant reading loads). During this conversation\,
  we’ll spend time considering where you want to focus your students' ene
 rgy and effort – and what can be streamlined to reduce the risk of distr
