This presentation will look at some positive connections and negative encounters between North American Native Spirituality and European Christian missionary fervor. Through art, story, and historical analysis, we will look at the lives of St. KATERI TEKAKWITHA and Servant of God NICHOLAS BLACK ELK as well as JESUIT missionaries and other saints across time including HILDEGARD OF BINGEN and KATHARINE DREXEL, and see how connected- and disconnected- we really are as one human family.
