Free EventBill Plunkert '68 was born in 1946 and is a product of Catholic education, from grade school through Boston College. Plunkert graduated from Boston College, where he played baseball and soccer, with majors in history and philosophy. Upon graduation, he spent almost five years in the United States Navy before joining the Central Intelligence Agency in 1973. After retiring in the spring of 2001, Plunkert spent seven years teaching religion to seniors at a Catholic high school. In 2008 he made the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius Loyola, retired from teaching and entered training to become a spiritual director in Ignatian spirituality. Plunkert has been a spiritual director since 2011. He is married, with two adult children and three grandchildren.
