Moneylending in the Republic of Ireland in the 1960s, Carole Holohan (TCD), Sean O'Connell (QUB) and Rob Savage (BC)
This is a past event.
On November 2nd Irish Studies will host the seminar: 'Re-discovering poverty, money lending in the Republic of Ireland in the 1960s'. The seminar explores how social and economic change made illegal money-lending more viable for many of Dublin's working poor. The seminar has its origins in a research project undertaken by three historians; Carole Holohan of Trinity College Dublin, Sean O'Connell of Queen's University Belfast and Rob Savage of Boston College. The findings of their project were published in a recent edition of the journal Irish Historical Studies.
