Join us for a captivating 1.5-hour solo piano recital by Lucas Sha. This performance features a journey through Chopin's compositions from his early to late eras. It is part of Lucas's preparation for the prestigious US Chopin National Competition.

About Lucas Sha

Lucas Sha began studying piano at 11. His principal teachers have included Mina Perry, Ory Shihor, and currently, Saleem Ashkar and Lilit Karapetian-Shougarian.

Since his musical debut, Lucas Sha has been a part of numerous performances and collaborations, earning recognition from notable venues and organizations. Notably, he was invited to present a dual lecture and recital series at the Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts and selected to present a solo recital for the California Association of Professional Music Teachers' Young Professional Leadership Concert series. 

Lucas Sha's musical journey has been enriched by his participation in essential camps for musicians, including the John Perry Academy of Music and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute for Young Pianists. He has also had the privilege of performing in masterclasses and taking private lessons with distinguished pianists such as Mikhail Voskresensky, Jeremy Denk, and John Perry. His dedication and talent have been recognized through honors and awards, including being named a winner of the prestigious National YoungArts Competition and being accepted to the Juilliard School's Bachelor of Music in piano performance program.

Currently, Lucas is a rising junior studying Computer Science at Brown University. He is continuing to pursue his musical interests by preparing for the 2025 Chopin National Competition. He is grateful for the support and advice of his parents, friends, and mentors on this journey.
