About this Event
ANNUAL MINISTRY RENEWAL DAY
STM 10TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT
Rev. William D. Roozeboom, STM assistant professor of pastoral care and counseling
Challenging and stressful, ministry requires the engagement of one’s entire being. The human “stress response” can make the demands of ministry feel overwhelming and exhausting. This presentation explores the neurophysiology of the stress response; our predisposition toward hypervigilance because of the brain’s negativity bias; and how regular wellness practices help increase our capacity to respond effectively and empathically in ministry, and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.
