In a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), how do we wrestle with profound questions, such as what does it mean to be human? How do we promote these tools and technologies for good? Join the Office of the Vice President for Human Resources (OVPHR) for a compelling presentation by Fr. Philip Larrey, Ph.D, a distinguished professor of philosophy at Boston College and former Dean of the Philosophy Department at the Pontifical Lateran University in the Vatican. 

Drawing on his extensive work, including the books Connected World and Artificial Humanity, Fr. Larrey will invite us to explore philosophical, ethical, and human-centered dimensions of AI and digital innovation. This is a unique opportunity to engage with a thought leader who has been at the forefront of the global conversation on technology’s impact on society, fostering dialogue with industry leaders and scholars from the Vatican to Silicon Valley. 

The event is scheduled on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 12 pm to 1 pm at Walsh Hall.  All faculty and staff are welcome to attend this event.
