Kids and Families: Japanese Textile Arts Workshop
Inspired by the textiles displayed in the woodblock prints of Eaglemania: Collecting Japanese Art in Gilded Age America, the McMullen invites kids (ages 5–12) and families to experiment with their own fabric. Following a brief tour of the exhibition, we will explore a couple of different Japanese textile processes, including shibori (indigo dyeing) and fabric painting. Kids are welcome to bring their own t-shirts, fabric, etc. The Museum will also provide fabric and materials free of charge.
Kids and Families Workshops are free and open to the public. Because seats are limited, prior registration is required at https://goo.gl/TRt4uC.
