https://bit.ly/4kGzWYm ##clough, #cloughcenter, #irishinstitutebcUnlike the pattern in other European countries, the 2024 Irish general election brought very little political change with the return of a centrist coalition dominated by Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael. Against the backdrop of concerns around immigration, housing and the economy, the election did not produce a rise in support for the radical right, although it did see an almost total wipeout for the Green Party and a disappointing result for Sinn Féin. To analyze the election and its outcome, the Clough Center in partnership with the Irish Institute of Boston College is pleased to host two of Ireland’s leading scholars – Dr Theresa Reidy (University College Cork) and Professor Gary Murphy (Dublin City University) – in conversation with Professor Mary C. Murphy (Boston College).
