📍 Shea Center for Entrepreneurship 245 Beacon Street, Room 202, Boston College

Join us for a conversation with Peter Bell, a Boston College alumnus and seasoned entrepreneur, investor, and venture capitalist who has spent more than two decades building and scaling influential technology companies, now increasingly at the frontier of AI.

Peter began his career at Price Waterhouse before joining EMC Corporation in 1986, where he helped drive growth during the rise of enterprise computing. In 1998, he co-founded StorageNetworks, an early pioneer in cloud computing, and led the company as CEO through its IPO in 2000. That experience shaped his perspective on major platform shifts similar to today’s AI moment.

Committed to education and mentorship, Peter later taught entrepreneurship at MIT Sloan and Boston College and served as a BC Trustee from 2002 to 2010. In 2006, he joined Highland Capital Partners, a 4 billion dollar global venture firm, where he led early-stage technology investments and became Managing General Partner. His investment career has generated more than 8 billion dollars in liquidity, including companies building core infrastructure and data-driven platforms such as Gigamon, Turbonomic, WePay, and LevelUp.

Since 2018, Peter has been a partner at Amity, where he focuses on backing founders building companies of consequence, including AI and data-centric businesses. He currently represents Amity on the boards of Edge Delta, Vowel, and Accelevents, and oversees investments in Column, Qumulo, Socure, and Snyk. Peter holds a BS from Boston College, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and an Honorary Doctorate from Babson College.
