Institutional Spirituality. An Ignatian Perspective
About this Event
Nick Austin is a Jesuit priest, theological ethicist, and spiritual director
who is currently Master of Campion Hall in the University of Oxford.
After his doctorate at Boston College (2005-10),
he taught Christian Ethics at Heythrop College, University of London,
and published Aquinas on Virtue with Georgetown University Press (2017).
His current work builds bridges between ethics and spirituality,
especially in the Ignatian/Jesuit tradition.
This lecture will sketch some ideas for connecting institutions, such as universities, with spirituality. Spirit needs to be embodied in institutions, or it will become ethereal; institutions need a spirit, or they will lose their soul.
