Emmeline Hambali Sondakh, CSOM 2000, has spent the last 20 years of her life working for her family business, making rigid plastics and packaging for the largest brands in the world from South East Asia and China. Sustainability has become part of their DNA. Actions are taken to reduce their carbon footprint and incremental changes are made so that they produce lighter, better designed packaging for consumers. New alternative technologies and materials are researched and implemented. About 5 years ago, they decided to address the issue of Circular Economy in plastics, addressing the need for better plastic waste collection and the shortage of good quality post consumer plastics, and embarking on the journey to create one of Indonesia’s largest plastic recycling facilities. Their goal is to provide a solution for Circularity that places emphasis on the people within the supply chain. They hope to be able to provide a solution that is not only fitting for the customers that they serve, but also the partners who they work with in this journey to a better future.
