Our next event On Refugee Work and Afghanistan: An interview with Farhad Sharifi will include a brief introduction from Farhad Sharifi from the School of Social Work, followed by an interview moderated by Maryanne Loughry, AM, also from the School of Social Work, and James F. Keenan, SJ, Vice Provost for Global Engagement.
Farhad Sharifi, MSW, is the Refugee Program Advisor at the Research Program on Children and Adversity in the School of Social Work. He is from the Western part of Afghanistan and is one of the evacuees from Kabul airport after the fall of Kabul to the Taliban. He resettled in Boston with his new appointment with RPCA as a cultural expert. Farhad got a Master in Social Work from St. Joseph College of Bangalore, in India. As a social worker, he has worked with an iNGO in Afghanistan as Programs Coordinator for IDPs (internally displaced people) since 2013.
