Our next lecture, Debt, Development and Self-Improvement: South Asia and Global Capital, will be given by Meghna Chaudhuri from the Department of History.

Meghna Chaudhuri is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Boston College. After graduate school at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, she completed her PhD with Distinction in September 2020. At Boston College, Meghna is teaching her class "Plagues, Panics and Capitalism" as part of the Globalization-History Core and is writing about development and the history of capitalism in the non-West as part of her book project A Measure of Value: The Racial Origins of Global Finance in South Asia, 1830-1960.
