Sligo fiddler, Oisín Mac Diarmada began playing the fiddle at a young age in County Clare. He developed a deep interest in the playing style of the Sligo region, having moved there at age 11. Oisín founded the internationally-renowned group Téada, with whom he has recorded numerous albums on the Gael Linn and Green Linnet labels.

In 2017, in collaboration with Sligo accordionist, Daithí Gormley, Oisín released the Fiddlers of Sligo tunebook. The publication includes transcriptions of 52 tunes from the recorded repertoire of 22 historic Sligo fiddlers, the most notable of which is Michael Coleman.

Having recorded over 90 78-rpm records, Michael Coleman (1891-1945) is the most influential traditional Irish musician of the twentieth century. In this anniversary year, with new private recordings soon to be released by the Irish Traditional Music Archive in Dublin, Oisín Mac Diarmada will present an in-depth look into the life and music of Michael Coleman.
