This workshop provides a practical discussion of how to foster a positive classroom climate that promotes student learning. Participants will discuss strategies for facilitating classroom environments that foster relationships, agency, and transparency through course policies and practices. By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Describe the relationship between belonging and learning
- Identify barriers to belonging at the campus, discipline, and classroom level
- Apply belonging-supportive interventions in context
Enrollment is limited; please register as soon as possible, but no later than February 9, 2026.
This is one of 5 required workshops for the Foundations of Teaching (FT) Program. Those who miss more than ten minutes of a session will not receive FT Program credit for that workshop.
