Marvin W. Berkowitz is the McDonnell Professor of Character Education and Co-Director of the Center for Character and Citizenship at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, and UM System President’s Thomas Jefferson Fellow. He is a developmental psychologist specializing in character development and education. He is author of You Can’t Teach Through a Rat, Parenting for Good and more than 100 book chapters and journal articles, and is co-editor of the Journal of Character Education. His newest book, PRIMED for Character will be out in April 2021. He is recipient of the Character Education Partnership’s Lifetime Achievement Award (2006) and the Association for Moral Education’s Good Work Award (2010) and Kuhmerker Career Award (2013).
