At a time when virtually all discourse has been swallowed up by politics, it is important to recover precisely what the New Testament means by "freedom." In this presentation, Dr. Luke Timothy Johnson, Robert W. Woodruff Professor Emeritus of New Testament and Christian Origins, Emory University, uses Paul's letters to the Romans, Galatians, and Corinthians to examine the paradoxical nature of Christian slavery and freedom, and proposes the New Testament teaching as a measure for the discernment of some contemporary notions.
