"Feeding Fascism: The Politics of Women's Food Work"
In her ground-breaking new book, Prof. Garvin (Asst. Professor of Italian, University of Oregon) tells the fascinating story behind women’s food work under the Mussolini regime through eplorations of a variety of social phenomena including the “model Fascist kitchems,” farm women’s use of foraging and culinary work songs as vehicles of protest, and the daily politics of factory work at the Perugina chocolate factory.
