"It is clear that composing found me. It crept up on me and wouldn’t let me out of its grasp."

Errollyn Wallen CBE is a multi award-winning Belize-born British composer, as much at home in jazz and pop as she is in the classical world. Wallen's music featured in the opening of the 2012 Paralympic games, has been played at the BBC Proms, and has even been sent into outer space. In 2024 Wallen was appointed Master of the King's Music by King Charles III, in his first appointment to the post. In her lecture Wallen will talk about her path to becoming a composer and share insights into how she sees and hears the world.
