Equity, Justice, and Inclusion Lecture & Distinguished Alumni Award Celebration
The Boston College School of Social Work invites you to the annual Equity, Justice, and Inclusion Lecture and Distinguished Alumni Awards Celebration. These awards recognize the significant contributions to the field of social work made by a BCSSW alumna/us. Two awards are given each year, one to a recent graduate (5-10 years) and the other to an alumnus/a 10+ years from graduation.
Research has demonstrated that social factors influence a person's health and the likelihood of healthcare access. This year's event will feature a keynote by Dr. Taveras, followed by a conversation on healthcare inequities and solutions that can improve the well-being of underserved populations. The discussion will highlight how these inequities are presented in community-based settings, and strategies BCSSW can use to prepare practitioners to confront these issues.

Chief Community Health & Health Equity Officer for Mass General Brigham
Executive Director, Kraft Center for Community Health at MGH
Conrad Taff Professor of Nutrition in the Department of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School
