Priscilla Grew, Director Emerita, University of Nebraska State Museum and Professor Emerita, University of Nebraska Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences

Title: "The Intersection of Science, Policy and Diplomacy in the COVID-19 World: Challenges for International Earth Science"

Bio: With a B.A. from Bryn Mawr and Ph.D. from UC-Berkeley, Dr. Grew taught geology at Boston College 1967-1972, then served for 10 years in state government in California. She was Director of the Minnesota Geological Survey 1986-1993 and Vice Chancellor for Research at Nebraska 1993-1999. She served on the National Academy of Sciences Board on International Scientific Organizations 2006-2012, representing the GeoUnions including the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) and the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG). She was the U.S. nominee for President of IUGS in the spring of 2016. Dr. Grew currently is a member of the Finance Committee of IUGG and an ex-officio member of the U.S. National Committee for IUGG which she chaired 2003-2011.
