This online workshop has been designed as a professional development opportunity for Pre-K-12 school administrators and leaders including superintendents, district leaders, principals, and assistant principals.

This workshop will provide participants with the practical tools and reflective opportunities to evaluate and adjust classroom texts and instruction to address instances of bias. In part 1 of this 90-minute workshop, participants will first acknowledge that bias persists in our classrooms and that there are multiple avenues for disrupting bias. Leaders and teachers will review and analyze David Sadker’s 7 Forms of Bias and textual examples for each. In Part 2, participants will then actively participate in decision making around their own curricular texts and consider alternatives approaches in mitigating detected bias.
