A guest lecture given by Prof. Myung-Lim Park (Interdisciplinary Department of Area Studies in Graduate School and Director of the Kim Dae-Jung Presidential Library & Museum, Yonsei University) about the decline of democracy.
Prof. Myung-Lim Park
Myung-Lim Park teaches at the Interdisciplinary Department of Area Studies, Graduate School, Yonsei University. He teaches political theory, peace studies, constitutionalism, Korean Studies, and East Asian International Relations. He is the Director of the Kim Dae-jung Presidential Library & Museum. He used to be a visiting professor at EHESS in Paris and at the Free University of Berlin in 2013-2014. From 1995 to 2008, he co-organized and participated in the inter-Korean conferences with North Korean scholars and officials over 15 times in Beijing, Pyongyang, Mt. Kumkang, Shenyang, Berlin, and Seoul.
He has written several books in Korean, including: The Origins and Coming of the Korean War (1996); Requiem for Peace: Korea, 1950 (2002); Design for the Future Republic (2011). He received some distinguished academic awards including: The Korean Political Science Association (KPSA) Academic Award (2003) and the 100 Representative Books in Modern Korea (2005 Frankfurt International Book Fair).
