DESCRIPTION:Critical conversations are charged moments in the classroom tha
 t can present in a variety of different ways\, though they're often focuse
 d on questions that bring together topics of difference\, power\, and just
 ice. Whether a critical conversation predictably breaks out in a discussio
 n of a provocative text or unexpectedly erupts in response to a student co
 mment\, they are an opportunity for learning. But these heated moments can
  also leave instructors scrambling to regain control of the discussion. In
  this interactive session\, participants will discuss the factors that can
  lead to critical conversations and learn strategies to prepare for and fa
 cilitate them.\n\n \n\nEnrollment is limited\; please register as soon as 
 possible\, but no later than February 16\, 2026.\n\nThis is one of the ele
 ctive workshops for the Certificate in College Teaching (CCT) Program. Tho
 se who miss more than ten minutes of a session will not receive CCT Progra
 m credit for that workshop.\n\nYou do not need to be registered for the pr
 ogram in order to attend. However\, if you would like to join\, you can se
