This workshop is designed for graduate students preparing for future faculty roles who want to begin developing clear and thoughtful policies for the use (or non-use) of generative AI in their teaching. After reviewing some key principles on developing course and assignment policies (i.e., alignment with pedagogical goals), we will guide participants in drafting syllabus language that sets expectations for students’ use (or non-use) of AI. We will consider approaches to assessing student work when AI use is suspected and explore how future professors can involve students in shaping classroom norms around AI.

Enrollment is limited; please register as soon as possible, but no later than September 24, 2025.

This is one of the elective workshops for the Certificate in College Teaching (CCT) Program. Those who miss more than ten minutes of a session will not receive CCT Program credit for that workshop.
