Certificate in College Teaching: AI and Teaching: A Framework for Graduate Students (Remote)
Thursday, July 9, 2026 12pm to 1pm
About this Event
As a graduate student, you navigate AI from two positions at once: as a learner making decisions about your own intellectual work, and as a teacher — current or future — who will set or enforce policies for students. This workshop gives you a structured way to think through both roles. Using a four-question Pedagogical AI Decision Framework, we'll work through two concrete assignment scenarios: a weekly reading response and a seminar research paper and examine where AI use supports learning, where it complicates it, and where it forecloses it entirely. No prior experience with AI tools required. You'll leave with a handout you can return to when the question comes up in your own teaching.
Enrollment is limited; please register as soon as possible, but no later than July 2nd, 2026.
This is one of the elective workshops for the Certificate in College Teaching (CCT) Program. Those who miss more than ten minutes of a session will not receive CCT Program credit for that workshop.
